A bladder prolapse operation is used to treat urinary incontinence and bladder prolapse, the medical term for which is "cystocele".
It is performed vaginally to correct the descent of the bladder and to restore its normal position.
In cases with associated urinary incontinence, small meshes can be placed under the urethra during the same surgery to restore the bladder angle.
This treatment is minimally invasive, so it does not require more than 24 hours in hospital.
